VISIT TO
LORD MAYOR 2008 |
On
Wednesday 12th March, the Ballinlough Scout group were
invited to visit the Lord Mayor of Cork at the City
Hall. The evening was a very enjoyable and all scouts
were presented with the 100 years badge and a special
pin of the City of Cork Coat of Arms

PROJECT 2008 |
Our
10th Annual Internet Project being held in the Tourism &
Hospitality in CIT is about going Around the
World in 80 Minutes

MAGIC
NIGHT 2008
|
On
Tuesday 26th February, the 38th Macaoimh invited us to a
Magic Show with Magician Paul Dee in the Scout Hall.
The night was a great success and we witness many
fabulous tricks.

CHESS &
DRAUGHTS 2008 |
Congratulations
to our Chess Team, who won the County Chess Competition
and to the Draughts teams who came second in the County
Draughts Competition. This years event was held in
Friary Hall on Doyle Road on Sunday 24th February.

ORIENTEERING 2008 |
Currabinny
Woods was the location for our Orienteering Competition.
The course was se up by the Scouts, who were also
holding their County Competition there. All of our
teams performed very well.

COUNTY
QUIZ 2008 |
The
County quiz was hosted by Frankfield Macaoimh on Sunday
13th January. We entered two teams in the
competition and came in fourth place. The quiz was
won by Blackrock with Kinsale in second place who went
forward to the National Quiz.

INDOOR FOOTBALL CHALLENGE 2007
|
Our
County Indoor Football Challenger took place on Sunday
18th November We did very well and won the Under 10's
Cup and came second in the Over 10's Cup. Congratulation
to all of the teams!

CYCLE HIKE 2007
|
Our
cycle hike was planned by the macaoimh doing their Gold
Arrow badge and was also part of the Cyclist merit
badge. The route took us to Blackrock Pier,
Blackrock Castle, along the River Walk, along part of
the old Railway line and back to the Scout Hall

MOUNT
MELLERAY WEEKEND 2007
|
The
Ballinlough Group went to Mount Melleray for the weekend
on the 19th - 21st October 2007. Both macaoimh
sections participated on the weekend which included a
hike, campfire, obstacle course, movie, rope bridge
crossing or a river and more.

SUGARLOAF HILL WALK 2007
|

CURRABINNY 2007
|
Our
first hike of the new scouting year took place on 23rd
September to Currabinny Woods. WE set a tracking trail,
built shelters and cooked sausages!

GALTEE
HILL WALK 2007
|
Our
Final Hike of the year was a Parent & Macaoimh Hill walk
in the Galtees. We climbed Galtee Beag on Sunday
10th June on a beautiful sunny day.

CAMP 2007
|
The
Annual County Macaoimh Camp was held from 18th to 20th
May. This years theme was "Super Heros" and we had
an action packed weekend in Kilcully & Trabolgan
