MITCHELSTOWN CAVES & RIVER WALK
On Sunday 20th June, we were invited the the 38th Cork Macaoimh on a tour to Mitchelstown Caves followed by a trip to the woods for lunch.  The day was great fun with a duck races in the river followed by a walk down the river !  PICTURES >

CUB CAMP 2004
From the 21st to 23rd May we had our annual Cub Camp in Kilcully. This year were did some arts & craft bases on Friday Night.  Visited Milstreet County park on Saturday and had a Hawaii BBQ and a Campfire and on Sunday will played a hugh game of Kilcullyopoly.  The weater stayed fine all weekend and we had a great time.  PICTURES >

SPLODGE, KILLEAGH WOODS
On Sunday 16th May, we participated in this years Splodge event, held in Glenbower Woods in Killeagh.  The day was very sunny and many of the bases on the hike involved a lot of mud and water activities !! PICTURES >

PARENT & MACOIMH HILLWALK
On Sunday 9th May, we had a parent & macaoimh hillwalk which took in the Knockmealdown and the Sugar Loaf in Co. Waterford. The weather was great and everybody enjoyed themselves ! (No complaints from anybody about all the walking - especially not the parents !!)  PICTURES >

WEEKEND TO TRALEE
On the 17th & 18th April we went on a mini- weekend to Tralee by train.  We styed in the 1st Kerry (Tralee) Scout Hall and visited the Aquadome and the Windmill in Belnnerville and a morse code project, the Athlete merit badge and had a music quiz.  PICTURES >

SWIMMING NIGHT
During March the 40th Macaoimh spent one MOnday night doing the Water Safety Badge in Dún Tara (Scout Hall) and then went the LEsiure world in Bishopstown to complete the Swimmers Badge 2 weekes later.  All macaoimh passed both badges. PICTURES >

NATIONAL QUIZ WINNERS 2004 !
On Sunday 21st February in Dundalk, the 40th Macaoimh, representing Cork South Scout County, won the National Quiz on tie breaker questions!  The macaoimh put in a fantasic performance scoring 63 out of a possible 66 !  Well done and congratualtions to the team. PICTURES >

HIKE TO FARRAN WOODS
Sunday 17th February, saw the first outdoor hike in 2004.  This was a joint hike to Farran Woods with the 38th Macaoimh.  The hike included Shelter Building, Map Making, Cooking Sausages, a Tracking Trail and finding a dead fish !  PICTURES >

COOKING NIGHT 2004
This year we made and cooked Burgers and a desert which consisted of cakes, cream, choc chips and jelly decorations ! Each calnn got to make and cook their own and this year was again very sucessful. PICTURES >

INVESTITURE & CIVIL DEFENCE TOUR
CivilDefense0404.jpg (52708 bytes)This year our Investiture took place at the Cork City Civil Defence on Friday 6th February. As well as the Investiture, Macaoimh were presented with their Gold Silver & Bronze Awards and we had a fantasic tour of the Civil Defence.  PHOTOS
