MACAOIMH CAMP 2005
Our Cub/Macaoimh Camp was held in Kilcully from the 20th to 27th May.  There was a Western Theme on the weekend and it included a Hobby Horse race, BBQ & Campfire.    Pictures...
 
WEEKEND TO FERMOY
Our second weekend away of the year was to Fermoy.  We had a good weekend and completed the Chef Merit Badge by preparing and cooking our own dinner and washing up afterwards.   Pictures...
 
NATIONAL QUIZ 2005
The National Cub Scout/Macaoimh Quiz was held in Phibsboro Scout Den in Dublin.  Both the 38th & 40th Cork attended from the South Scout County. The place was packed with teams from all over the country. Pictures...
 
FARRAN WOODS & ORIENTEERING
On the 13th March, we had a joint hike with the 38th Cork to Farran Woods. As well as building some really good shelters, we also had an orienteering competition. Results...
 
INTERNET PROJECT 2005
This is the 7th year of our Internet Project in conjunction with the Educational Opportunities Dept. in CIT.  This year we combined the project with the Computer Merit Badge. Pictures...
 
INVESTITURE IN CITY GAOL
Our Investiture this year was held in the Old City Gaol in Sundays Well. After a private tour, the investiture took place and badges were awarded. 10 new macaoimh were invested. Pictures... 
 
GOLD ARROW, RÍ & AIRE HIKE 
Before our investiture, the Gold Arrow macaoimh and the Rí's & Aires planned and went on a hike to Killeagh Woods to complete their Gold Arrow and Hiker Badge  
 
COUNTY QUIZ '05
Our Quiz Team did very well and finished in second place. We were beaten by the 38th Cork, so congratulations all round for Ballinlough.  Pictures... 
 
CHRISTMAS CAMPFIRE
On Wednesday 16th December we has a Group Campfire in Kilcully Campsite,  The weather stayed dry and everybody looked very festive in their Christmas Hats!  Pictures... 
 
WEEKEND IN MOUNT MELLERAY
This was our first weekend away this year and we went to Mount Melleray from the 19th to 21st November.  It was a joint weekend with the 38th Macaoimh and we were joined by the Beavers on the Sunday. Pictures...
 
COUNTY HIKE TO MUCKROSS
On Sunday 14th November we went on the County Hike to Torc and Muckross.  During the hike hike we did part of the the Map Reader of Hiker Badges.  Pictures...
 
NIGHT HIKE TO CARRIGALOE
On Monday 1st of November we met at the Train Station for our night hike to Carrigaloe.  This hike involved sending a message from one side of the river lee to the other!  Pictures...
 
FIRST AID NIGHT
On Monday 11th October, we had our First Aid Night and 14 Macaoimh completed the First Aid Merit Badge with a little help from John Tyner from the Civil Defence  Pictures...
 
ROSTELLAN HIKE
On Sunday 10th October, we went to Rostellan Woods for the day and did Orienteering, Tracking Trails, Shelters and much more including cooking sausages !  Pictures...
 
SATTITUDE ON RTE TWO
On Saturday 9th October, the 40th Macaoimh and the Brigins from Ballinlough went head to head on the RTE Two Sattitude Programme (Scouts versus the Guides)  It was a great morning, the Guides won the challenge in the end and we got "gunged" !!   Pictures...
 
CROSSHAVEN HIKE
On Sunday 26th September, we went on our first hike of the year to Crosshaven and around Camden to Weavers Point.  We did some projects on the way and even managed to cook sausages!  Pictures...
