MACAOIMH CAMP 2006
|

Our Annual Macaoimh
Camp took place in Kilcully from the 23rd to 25th June.
The theme was pirates and we went on a Harbour Tour,
Completed the Naturalist Merit Badge in Fota, had a BBQ
and some fun bases including a big inflatable Slide !

KNOCKMEALDOWNS 2006
|
On
Sunday 7th May we had our Parent & Macaoimh Hill walk.
Unfortunately is clashed with Holy Communications and we
had a small attendance, but we still went ahead to the
Knockmealdowns in Waterford.

WOGGLES 2006
|
Martin
Thompson came to visit and help all the macaoimh make
Woggles on 10th April. Each macaoimh was able to
design their own woggle and it was varnished afterwards
to protect it. Everybody wore their new woggle for

TRALEE
WEEKEND 2006
|
Our
second overnight activity for the year was on Saturday &
Sunday 8th and 9th April to Tralee in Co. Kerry, where
we visited the Aqua Dome, Crazy Golf and the Windmill in
Blennerville. Pictures.. |

INVESTITURE 2006
|
12
new macaoimh were invested on 27th March this year.
in addition 6 macaoimh were presented with their Bronze
Arrow, 9 achieved the Silver Arrow and 6 completed the
Gold Arrow and were awarded their badges.

COOKING 2006
|
Our
Cooking Project this year involved preparing and cooking
Burritos and dessert of Meringues with whipping cream
and fresh chopped fruit. There drink was orange and
macaoimh had to do he clean up as well.

ROSTELLAN HIKE 2006
|
This
was a joint activity with the 389th Macaoimh on Sunday
5th March 2006. During the hike we made Backwoods
Shelters, Made a stretcher to carry an "injured" person
as a first aid project and of course cooked sausages.

INTERNET
PROJECT 2006
|
This
is our 8th Annual Internet Project, hosted by the
educational Opportunities Dept. in CIT. This year
we are going to find out about our Clann Names and
search for the story and pictures about them.

COUNTY
CHESS & DRAUGHTS 2006
|
The
Count Chess & Draughts Competition took place in Friary
Hall on 19th February 2006. The Group submitted 3 Chess
and 3 Draughts teams from both macaoimh sections.

COUNTY
QUIZ 2006
|
The
year the quiz was hosted by 74th Cork in Frankfield
on 25th January. We were able to enter 2 teams
this year for this years competition. Both
teams ended up with very good scores.

KERRY
WAY 2005
|
Our
first County activity was a hike along part of the Kerry
Way from Galwey's bridge to Torc Waterfall on 23rd
October. There were almost 150 macaoimh on the
trip and it was a great success. Pictures...

PHOTOGRAPHER BADGE 2005
|
The
first part of our photographer badge was completed on
our trip to Cobh & Fota. In order to help us understand
how a camera works and the parts of it, we had a special
visitor - Dave Barry, who is professional photographer
and the County Commissioner in the Lee Valley Scout
County.

RÍ &
AIRE TRAINING 2005
|
Our
Rí's and Aire's did their training course in Blackrock
Macaoimh Dún on Tuesday 11th October. Afterward
they were presented with a folder of all the things they
had learned and a certificate for completing the course.

COBH &
FOTA 2005
|
Our
first hike for the year was to Cobh & Fota on Sunday 9th
October. This activity was the first part of our
photographer badge. Part of the challenger was to get
our picture taken with a Kangaroo !
