Our
Final Hike of the year was a Parent & Macaoimh Hill walk
in the Galtees. We climbed Galtee Beag on Sunday
10th June on a beautiful sunny day.

The
Annual County Macaoimh Camp was held from 18th to 20th
May. This years theme was "Super Heros" and we had
an action packed weekend in Kilcully & Trabolgan

The
Macaoimh Cup Competition was re-introduced this year
after a three year break and our outdoor part was held
in Kilcully on 29th April - the Theme was Cowboys and
Indians. Pictures...
On
Monday 16th April each clann made a Catapult from
bamboos and Elastic bands and then were had a
competition to sees which could fire a table tennis ball

On
Monday 2nd April both the 38th & 40th Macaoimh headed to
Leisure world in Bishopstown to complete the Swimmers

year our Internet Project is going to be about find out
about Scouts in Different Countries. To

On
the 19th February we had our annual County Draughts and
Chess Final, held in the Carrigaline Court. Ballinlough
entered 2 chess and 1 draughts teams in the event.

On
the 22nd January we did a funny face project with all
macaoimh present at the meeting. Each macaoimh had to
make a funny face and a picture was taken. All
picture were then included in a slide show

On
the Sunday 21st January we participated in the County
Quiz Final held in Frankfield Community Centre. We
entered two teams in the quiz. The results were
very close and our best place was fifth, only 4 or 5
points behind the winning team

The
County Hill walk this year on 19th November was the
wettest ever. In all 183 macaoimh and leaders took
part on the walk in Torc, Killarney. The Hike
finished with a BBQ! Pictures...
On
the 10th to 12th November the 40th Macaoimh went to
Mount Melleray Scout Centre in Co. Waterford.
Activities includes an obstacle course, zip wire,
climbing wall, a hike, and toasting marshmallows!

Our
hike to Kilcully on 22nd October was originally planned
for Farran Woods, but the weather forecast was poor and
we changed locations. We needn't have bothered as it was
sunny all day! Pictures...
Our
first hike of the new year was to Currabinny Woods on
the 1st October. This was the frist hike for most of the
new macaoimh and we covered a lot of our badge work on

Our Annual Macaoimh Camp took place in Kilcully from the 23rd to 25th June. The theme was pirates and we went on a Harbour Tour, Completed the Naturalist Merit Badge in Fota, had a BBQ and some fun bases including a big inflatable Slide ! Pictures...
