| On
Sunday 9th May we had a Parent & Macaoimh Hillwalk in
the Knockmealdowns in Co. Waterford. The day was
beatificul and sunny and very clear. We met in
Lismore and proceeded in convoy to the Car Park on the
county bounds between Waterford & Tipperary. The
first part of the hike was a worst part of the clinb upto
the gap between the two hills. Firstly we headed to the
Knockmealdown which is the highest mountain in th area at
794 meters high. It was a lovely walk and eveybody enjoyed
it. We took some pictures and walked down a bit for
lunch. Then
we set off for the Sugar Loaf (at only 663 meters high it
was just as easy!) on the top the parents were
presented with a gold pin with the scout sign for their
achievements and teh macoimh had another part of their
hiker badge done. Everybody had a great day - nobody
complained at all (least of all the parents) and everbody
is looking forward to the next hike !
